Class descriptions
- Garvey’s 7 Pan-African Principles - by the end of this lesson plan, youth should have a basic understanding of Marcus Garvey's seven principles and how they can relate to their own lives. Materials needed: writing utensils and notebook or digital (google docs, word, etc.)
- Mindfulness - youth will learn the practice of being aware of and accepting of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in the present moment without judgment. Materials needed: a quiet space .
- Sound Is Power, The Harpers Way - youth will learn how combinations of Nyahbinghi drum tones and rhythms can create powerful musical messages. Materials needed: African drum
- The Art of Storytelling - youth will engage in the conscious effort to create a visual narrative that encourages the audiences imagination. Materials needed: writing utensils and notebook or digital (google docs, word)
Target Age
- Most of the content is created for youth ages 6-18, in some cases youth will need assistance from parents/guardians.

- Cost: Free or pay what you can to support the program

- You can choose to attend all classes or what fits your schedule.

- You will have access to our private Summer Camp group once you are registered. Click on link in the email sent after registering or the discussion tab under events on Spaces by Wix app.
- We will send daily emails with links
- Replay of all classes will be available on the virtual camp portal.
Assignments
- Some workshops will require homework or family assignments, digital worksheet downloads, and uploads via our virtual camp portal
